And they do it regardless of all the new games and electronic toys that we have to keep ourselves amused. There has never before in history been so much available entertainment right at a persons fingertips. Yet boredom runs rampant among the population. Attention spans have shrunk, and entertainment is less appreciated and more expected.</p>
<p> The only thing worse than being bored while you have all these things, is facing the boredom without these things. At least if you have them, you know you can do them if you want. But if they are not there, then it seems the problem is a bit worse. You are stuck, even if you feel like doing one of the activities you think is boring. I experienced this lost feeling when I moved out of my parents house into my own apartment.</p>
<p> I made the move a bit quicker than I intended, and that meant only being able to take a few things with me. The rest would have to be delivered by my brother, because he had a truck. But he could not do it for another four days. So I was left in the apartment, on my own, with only some things my parents had given me, and some things I owned. I had managed to bring my prize possession, which was an <a target="_blank" href="http://www.acousticelectricguitar.biz">Ibanez acoustic electric guitar</a>.</p>
<p> But soon, boredom with that set in, and I found myself staring at the walls, not really sure what to do with myself. I thought about taking a walk, but I was not real familiar with the neighborhood just yet, and was not into making small talk with strangers. I liked to draw and paint, and had my acrylic paint set with me. So I painted a picture or two, until that feeling passed as well.</p>
<p> I could not think of any ways of amusing myself. Then it hit me. I actually had a creative idea. I grabbed the paint and went to a bathroom mirror. I began to artistically paint a hard rock face onto mine. I was about to create for myself, a fantasy I had, of being a rock and roll heavy metal star. After painting my face, I pulled on my old <a target="_blank" href="http://www.brownboots.bootsonlinestore.net">brown boots</a>, and went back to the living room. I looked like I belonged on a heavy metal album cover.</p>
<p> My fantasy was underway. I propped my feet up on the vacuum, began wailing away on my guitar, and pretended I was live in concert. I was lost in a pool of creativity for hours.</p>

It is amazing what some alone time and a little creativity can bring out of a person. Through this small bit of discovery, I have found a new way of entertaining myself, and it helps me later on to entertain others as well.</p>
